Born in Austria, Amra Selimovic moved to Nova Scotia in the early 2000s, and she has lived here - first in Halifax, then Lower Sackville, and now Truro - ever since.
Amra completed a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Political Science and minor in Law, at Dalhousie University. Her exposure to law courses during her undergraduate degree reaffirmed her goal of becoming a lawyer.
“I’ve known that I wanted to enter the legal profession ever since high school. I’ve worked toward that goal as I wanted to work in a people-oriented profession, meet with people from diverse backgrounds and assist them through difficult times.”
She attended the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where she volunteered with the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service, and completed her law degree in 2022.
After articling with Burchell MacDougall LLP, Amra joined the firm as an associate lawyer in 2023. She decided to work with the firm because of its experience and reputation within Nova Scotia.
Outside of work, Amra loves spending time outdoors with family and friends, and enjoys biking on trails, kayaking, and playing basketball and soccer with her younger brother.
