Lindsay is an associate lawyer with Burchell MacDougall, based in the firm’s Wolfville office. She practices primarily in the areas of wills and estates, family law, personal injury claims and employment law.
Lindsay grew up in the Halifax area and earned a Bachelor of Journalism (Honours) degree from the University of King’s College and a Bachelor of Science (Biology) degree from Dalhousie University. She completed her law degree at Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law, receiving the Clifford Rae Academic Achievement Award, the Elkanah Rafuse Prize for Highest Average in Maritime Law and a Schulich Scholarship.
In her legal practice, Lindsay takes pride in producing high-quality work and finding efficient and collaborative routes to successful outcomes. She works to give clients the knowledge they need to make informed decisions, clearly laying out available options and likely outcomes. Lindsay aims to resolve legal disputes through negotiation and agreement whenever possible, particularly in family matters. If litigation becomes necessary to move a matter forward, she has the knowledge and experience to represent clients in the Courtroom, as well.
“I really enjoy being part of the solution,” she says. “I realize that navigating our legal system – and litigation in particular – can be intimidating. I keep this in mind and work to reduce client stress as much as possible.”
When not at the office, Lindsay enjoys spending time at home in Port Williams with her husband and three young children. She also enjoys hiking local trails and beaches, gardening, photography, travel, and cheering on her littles at their various sports and activities.
