Daniel Roper knew early on he wanted to be a litigator. “Litigation fits my personality,” he explains, “I’m a problem solver.”

Originally from Charlottetown, Daniel earned his undergraduate degree at UPEI.

Daniel joined Burchell MacDougall’s Truro office during his second summer of law school, did his articles with the firm and was hired as an associate lawyer following his call to the Nova Scotia Bar in June 2013. His practice focuses almost exclusively on litigation.

“Litigation is basically settling disputes between two parties,” Daniel explains, “I help my clients evaluate the situation beyond the emotion, advocate for them, and provide practical suggestions and solutions. My goal is to get my client to a resolution in an effective way.”

In his spare time, Daniel plays soccer and is the president of the Highland District Soccer Association. He sits as a director on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Truro and Colchester. Daniel also serves on the board of the Dismas Society, which administers Lavers House, a halfway house for men. He also volunteers with the United Way of Colchester County.
